Notes Muqaddimah is a social science work written by the famous Muslim thinker Ibn Khaldun, who lived in the 14th century. The importance of this work began to be understood only from the 19th century. Although Ibn Khaldun is the most studied person among the thinkers of the classical period, the intention and project of the Muqaddimah are not fully understood. This article aims to clarify this aspect of the Muqaddimah. In particular, it will be revealed what kind of ideas Ibn Khaldun developed in order to reach a scientific understanding of history. In this context, its relationship with sociology as well as the philosophical foundations of historical science will be on the agenda.

Notes Muqaddimah is a social science work written by the famous Muslim thinker Ibn Khaldun, who lived in the 14th century.
