Scholars belonging to Ahl al-Sunnah and Shia have disagreed on many issues throughout history. One of the controversial issues is the issue of wiping bare feet. The reason for this conflict between Ahl as-Sunnah and Shiites is the difference in the recitation of the verse in the Surah Maidah and the different narrations on the subject. In this article, the hadiths stating wiping bare feet will be evaluated for authenticity. The issue of washing the feet during ablution has been the subject of many studies with its aspects related to fiqh and tafsir. However, the authenticity evaluation of the hadiths expressing wiping has not been made yet. In the research, an attempt will be made to provide a sound evaluation by including text analysis and criticism along with isnad. Hadiths that express washing the feet during ablution are not included in the scope of our research. For this reason, it will be sufficient to refer to the hadiths on the subject. Hz. The Prophet's ablution method was widely included in the early hadith sources, and the companions conveyed the Prophet's ablution method, down to the smallest detail, to the next generations. It is necessary to clarify what is meant by the narrations of washing/wiping, which are among the fards of ablution, but which lead to a deep conflict between Ahl al-Sunnah and Shi'a on how to perform it. In this research prepared to fill the mentioned scientific gap, the subject will be examined in terms of tafsir and fiqh, and it will be tried to determine whether washing or wiping the feet during ablution is more correct in terms of sunnah. One of the issues to be focused on when it comes to washing the feet during ablution is the word ka'b. Ahl as-Sunnah and Shiites gave different meanings to the word ka'b and interpreted the verses and hadiths according to this meaning. For this reason, explaining the ka'b is of great importance in terms of clarifying the issue. As far as we can see, although there is no criticism among Ahl as-Sunnah scholars regarding the authenticity of the narrations that describe washing the feet, some Shiites have objected to these narrations. The narrations expressing anointing were subjected to criticism by Ahl as-Sunnah scholars and were considered weak compared to the most well-intentioned expressions. During the evaluation of the text, along with these criticisms, it will be tried to reveal whether it would be more correct to wash or wipe the feet during ablution.
