Notes
While the Jewish thinker Maimonides, on the one hand, argues that there will be no bodies in the afterlife and only the souls will attain spiritual pleasures, on the other hand, he presents the physical resurrection as an article of the Jewish principles of faith. In fact, he claims that stages such as the resurrection of the dead, heaven and hell will be experienced in this world, that these stages will end and that the final stage will be transferred to the afterlife (ʿolam ha-ba). According to him, only the good will win the afterlife and only the souls will be there. These views of his were understood within the Jewish tradition as rejecting the corporeal resurrection and received a lot of reactions. In the face of these reactions, Maimonides did not bring the issue of corporeal resurrection to the fore, and emphasized that the important thing was to gain the afterlife. In this article, Maimonides' views on the issue of resurrection are discussed. In this context, first of all his works were scanned and his approach to the idea of resurrection was determined, and then his Treatise on Hashir, in which he wrote about this idea independently, was evaluated. The Turkish translation of the relevant treatise made by us is included, and finally, the original text of the treatise, written in Judeo-Arabic, was converted into Arabic letters based on the Yosef Kafih edition and presented at the end of the article.
