Notes Although the transfer of knowledge through isnads forms a systematic structure in the culture of hadith and sirah narration, it is seen that the authors occasionally resort to telfiq in the isnads. The citation of isnads, which are generally discussed in the field of hadith, will be discussed in this article within the scope of the narrations in the sīra section of Ibn Saʿd's (d. 230/845) work named Kitābü't-Tabakâti'l kebīr, which is one of the basic texts of sīra literature. First, the conceptual framework and discussions on the subject will be included, then the isnad patterns and textual fictions of these narrations in the sirah section of Ibn Sa'd's work will be examined and it will be questioned whether the author followed a certain procedure. In addition, it will be tried to bring to the reader's attention what kind of opportunities and difficulties this method, which is encountered in classical period compilations in terms of sirah studies, has for modern period researchers.
