Notes
Concept is the existence of something independent of language. This entity exists in the external world and, accordingly, in the mind, depending on the situation. Islamic Ethics, as a behavioral order, is not a system that is put forward theoretically, with its concepts and terminologies, and then implemented. Revelation first Hz. It was effective in the person of the Prophet; The verses that were revealed at various times and on different occasions formed a coherent whole in his life. Hz. People around the Prophet responded to the revelation; They have witnessed this in its entirety, both in its language (the Holy Quran) and as an actual life/role model (Sunnah of the Prophet), and they have undertaken this as a way of life.[1] Thus, the concept/meaning/intention, which is stated to be independent of language and action, has become concrete by turning into action and discourse. When we think about the concept of compassion, the situation is as follows. Allah revealed to be 'compassionate', Hz. The Prophet transformed this command into life/sunnah in order to fulfill its necessity and demonstrate its application, and when the Companions followed the Prophet in the same manner, this content was named 'compassion'. While the processes of this naming - the meaning of the concept of compassion and the transformation of this meaning into a term / term - are examined; An accurate conclusion can be reached by considering the use of the concept in the Arabic Language, the Holy Quran and the Hadiths. Therefore, we will examine the concept of compassion from the perspective of the Arabic language. We will look at its expression in the Quran because it commands compassion and is the source of teaching and education. His descent into the field of application and his reflection in life are Hz. We will try to recognize/introduce the concept by considering the way it appears in the Hadiths in terms of the Prophet's understanding and meaning.
