Ahmet Hilmi Koğî (d. 1996) is one of the important figures of the Eastern madrasah tradition. After his life in the Madrasa, Koğî carried out educational activities along with his duty as an imam. Koği, who was also a good calligrapher, copied, corrected, researched and analyzed dozens of works that remained on the dusty shelves of history. Koği, a productive scholar, wrote many works in different branches of basic Islamic sciences such as grammar, fiqh, tafsir, tajwid, debate, logic, creed and vad'. Koğî has many treatises on the Arabic language. One of these treatises is his work called er-Risâletu'l-Hilmiyye fi'l-Kavâ'idi'l-Vad'iyye. In this treatise, which is not well known in the scientific world, the rules related to the science of wad in the Arabic language are discussed. Koği wrote an annotation to this treatise in order to better understand the rules of the science of vad' that he mentioned. The copy we have is in the author's own handwriting, with the text on top and the annotation at the bottom. In addition, there are some ta'liks at the edges of both the text and the annotation. With this study, which consists of edition criticism, it is aimed to present Koğî's concise work to the benefit of those interested and thus to contribute to the world of science. In this context, the science of wad' was discussed in outline in the introduction of the study. Then, Koğî's life and works were briefly mentioned and the treatise was analyzed and investigated in terms of its content and sources.
