Notes In this article, the issue of knowledge-faith relationship will be discussed with reference to the views of thinkers in the Hanafi-Maturidi line in the Islamic tradition of thought. While doing this, the basic questions to be answered will be: Why is it the first and most fundamental duty of man to know the existence of God? Why can't it be right to believe in the existence of God based on imitation? What does the Quran say about those who blindly imitate the ways of their ancestors? What are the means by which humans acquire knowledge? How is it possible to know the existence of God as a supersensory being? What is the difference between knowing and believing? What kind of relationship exists between knowledge, faith and trust?
