Notes Determining the status of narrators is an important issue in the science of hadith. Because, in order for any narration to be considered authentic, the narrators in the narration must first be reliable. In this context, many scholars have been engaged in the science of cerh and ta'dîl, which examines the situations of narrators, and have written works on this subject. One of the scholars who are interested in this field and wrote works is Ibn Ebî Hâtim er-Râzî. Ibn Abi Hatim made evaluations about many narrators and used some terms related to their narration qualifications. In this study, the terms used by Ibn Abi Hatim in the commentaries of the narrators and their meanings will be focused on.
