Notes
Osman Şahin is a writer whose story adventure has continued since the early 1970s and continues today. The author, who has experience in many fields of literature such as stories, reviews, novels, fairy tales, compilations and essays, adheres to the understanding of social realist literature. Şahin, who writes with a Maupassant style understanding of story, made his name known with many awards he received in the field of story. The story of the White Ox in the story book Acı Duman is also shaped according to the social realist understanding of art. This understanding manifests itself in the story in question as the oppressor-oppressed template. Traces of the author's own life can be seen in this story. It is possible to see the impact of the poverty he has experienced since his childhood on his inner world, in the world of the poor people in this story. It is seen that this feature of the author, who also works on folk culture, is reflected in his stories. The enthusiasm and excitement called love is one of the main themes of Osman Şahin's story called White Ox. In this story with intense content, many elements such as customs, oppression, fear, jealousy, superstitions, landlord-farlady relations, love, death, grudge, hatred and regret are encountered. The author's material in the story, which bears traces of his poor childhood in the Taurus Mountains and his observations in the East where he served, is social realities. The author wants to make the ideology he defends more believable by considering people in their own environment in the story. From a tradition dating back hundreds of years; Based on the landlord-fargat relations, the author shows that poor people are oppressed under this tradition and carries the story of a woman whose feelings are ignored in the rural areas into the text. The purpose of this study is to reveal the realities experienced by people who have been under the oppression of the Agha for centuries and their struggle with these realities.
