The calendar type, which was familiar to the public from the early periods of the Ottoman Empire, was prepared by chief astrologers, and preserved its existence within the official body of the state - the palace and its surroundings - began to develop/diversify after communication and interaction with the West. A result of this change and a new member of the period publications are the calendars created by private individuals and organizations. II. Since the reign of Abdulhamid, there has been a rapid increase in the number of printed calendars, Turkish, Arabic, French, Serbian, Armenian, Greek, Hebrew, Spanish, Bulgarian, etc. Many calendars have been prepared in many languages. Although there are studies on the dating method in modern history research, there are few studies on the calendars used in the Ottoman Empire. The main purpose of our study is to provide complementary, classifying information about the calendars created by private individuals and organizations; To emphasize that it was an important type of press in the period in which it was prepared. In this regard, first of all, the problem caused by the polysemous use of the word calendar in modern research has been tried to be revealed and a proposal for the solution of the problem has been presented. Then, the relationship between calendar, yearbook and almanac type works was mentioned. Finally, in the light of Ottoman archive documents –II. Limiting it to the Abdulhamid period, the calendar publication activity by private individuals and organizations was examined, some information about the print numbers, sizes, prices and contents of these works was presented, and a table containing the list of calendars prepared during the period was added.
