Notes	Siddhartha is a novel written by Hermann Hesse, influenced by Eastern literature and mysticism. The spiritual search, transformation and process of reaching the self of the protagonist, who shares the same name with the novel, constitute the main focus of the novel. In this respect, the work has the basic stages of the hero's mythological adventure and maturation process framed by Joseph Campbell in terms of fiction and content. The symbolic persons and beings in the novel also give the work a quality that can be examined in terms of the archetypal symbolism developed by Carl Gustav Jung. In this study, Hermann Hesse's novel Siddhartha will be subjected to a close reading in the context of the "separation-initiation-return" stages of Joseph Campbell's "mythological adventure of the hero" and Jung's archetypes.
