Notes
This research was conducted to determine the university adaptation and perceived stress situations of students studying at the Near East University Faculty of Theology and the Cyprus Social Sciences University Faculty of Religious Sciences, two institutions that provide higher religious education in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In the mixed method research, "Adaptation to University Life Scale", "Perceived Stress Scale" and "Semi-structured Interview Form" were used. According to the results of the research conducted with 264 students in 2020, it was seen that students adapted to university life at a high level and their perception of stress was low. It has been determined that gender and grade variables affect adaptation and stress situations, and the adaptation scores of female students are higher than male students. It was determined that the adaptation levels of first-year students were lower than those of students in other classes. It was determined that the regions where the students came from in Turkey, the high schools they graduated from and their income levels did not affect their adaptation and stress levels. In the qualitative section, it was determined that easy dialogue with faculty members was an important element that facilitated the adaptation process.
