n. Among the musicians who received Western Music training at the Muzıka-i Hümayun, which was established in place of the Mehterhane that Mahmud (d. 1839) had abolished in 1826, those who were also familiar with and familiar with Turkish Music created musical works that compared Turkish and Western Music in theoretical terms, and saved many works from being forgotten by notating them. They contributed to the development of MOsikisi and the enrichment of its repertoire. One of the musicians mentioned is Muallim Kazım Uz, who is the subject of our study. This valuable person, who has knowledge of Western Music due to his duty at the Muzilea-i Hümayun, and Turkish Music due to the lessons he took from Zekai Dede, the last great composer of Classical Genre Music. Thanks to his rich knowledge of music, he created many works in the theoretical and practical field. He provided great services to Tork MCisikisi, who went through difficult times during his time. The fact that no independent study has been conducted on the life and music of Kazım Uz, whom we believe to be one of the cornerstones of Genre Music due to these features, has made us believe that a study on the subject is necessary and ultimately led to the emergence of this study.
