Notes Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) XIV. He is a Tunisian History and Social scientist who lived in the 19th century. He is a scientist who introduced the concepts of asabiyyah, bedouin, hadari and umran to the sociology literature with his work Muqaddimah. He has a personality that contributes to academic fields with his ideas of history, politics, philosophy and sociology. The works of Ibn Khaldun, who has such academic works, should be examined meticulously. However, it seems that Ibn Khaldun research has remained weak so far. In this study, which aims to partially eliminate this weakness, Ibn Khaldun's views on the characters of different societies will be discussed. For this reason, the main source of our research will be Ibn Khaldun's Muqaddimah. In Ibn Khaldun's work, it will be tried to reveal the characteristic features of societies (hard-working, warrior, statist, etc.). With his approach, the characteristics that make Arabs, Berbers, Turks, Persians, Kurds and Slavs different from each other will be defined. Attention will be drawn to whether the identified features are preserved today in the societies in question. In this way, the reader will get an idea about Ibn Khaldun's currentness. An effort will be made to exchange information about the identity preservation of societies by making use of rare studies specifically conducted on the subject.
