Although many scientific studies have been carried out on Kindi revealing his different aspects, no study explaining his relevance to tafsir has been identified. For this reason, the present study reveals Kindi's understanding of the Quran, his style of approach to the verses of the Quran, and evaluates it in terms of the science of exegesis, specifically in his article On the Prostration and Obedience of the Heavens to Allah. In other words, he tries to determine Kindi's interest/relationship with tafsir. In addition, the other discussion area of the study is whether Kindi can be considered a commentator in the context of what a commentator is. Ultimately, the study concludes that Kindi was not a commentator, but that, as a Muslim, he was trying to communicate with the Quran and find his life and thoughts in the holy book he believed in.
