Notes Man, created as a social being, communicates and interacts with other people in society. Economic activities such as shopping and lending are also part of this communication. Throughout history, legal systems have established rules, orders and prohibitions regulating these activities. Studies comparing Islamic and Jewish legal systems, which are based on revelation and still practiced by their adherents, are fewer than studies on the history of religions. The aim of this study is to contribute to the studies in this field. Similar and different aspects of both legal systems in terms of qard contract have been examined. The similarities and differences between them are mentioned. It has been determined that there are more similarities than differences in the provisions of Islamic law and Jewish law regarding lending. The most natural reason for the similarity is that the sources of these two legal systems are the same. The differences are due to the interpretations of the Jews who changed the religious rules in order to ensure harmony between the law and the changing living conditions over time.
