Feminism is a movement that emerged in the West in modern times and has defined itself as defending women's rights. Until today, feminism has diversified within itself and spread around the world. This article aims to analyze the language and discourses that feminism has developed regarding religion since its beginning. Generally speaking, there is a negativity in feminism's approach to religion. In the article, first of all, religions in general and Islam's discourses on women in particular are described. The language and discourse about women are outlined especially in the holy books of the three major religions. Then, how feminism evaluates these discourses around certain classified topics is explained with examples. Feminism's basic discourse on this issue is that religions see women in a secondary position. This situation has brought about the widespread use of a language such as reckoning with religion in feminist thought until today. However, it is observed that as feminism spreads to different geographies outside the West, it develops different relations with religion.
