Ayyad ibn Musa ibn Ayyad al-Yahsbi says: “It was all attended by the noble jurist Abu Muhammad Abd al-Munim ibn al-Faqih al-Ajmal, the good professor Abu Bakr Yahya ibn Khalaf ibn al-Nafis al-Himyari, and I granted it to him and authorized him to narrate it on my behalf and in all my narrations.” And my audiobooks, my writings, and my collections, and I also granted all of that to his brother Abdul Mawla, may God bless them all and make them grow a beautiful plant. Andalusian handwriting from folio 1 to folio 73 | It contains verses by Abu Al-Hussein Ali bin Harun praising Judge Ayyad. They wronged Ayyad while he dreamed of them. *** And the injustice between the two worlds is ancient. They took the place of opinion as an eye in his name. *** in order to conceal it. Its affair is known. If it were not for him, the ruins of Ceuta would not have been revealed. *** And the garden around its annihilation is non-existent. I also permitted all of that to his brother Abd al-Mawla, may God bless them all, and made them grow a good plant. I also permitted their father, the jurist, to have the aforementioned term for what he wished for me to carry my collections, and I authorized all of that for him, including my book, the book Arranging the Perspectives and Approximating the Paths to Know the Signs of Malik’s Doctrine, the book Baghiyat al-Ra’id, for what was included in the hadith: Umm Zur’ of the benefits, the book Mashariq al-Anwar on the obscure Sahih al-Athaar, the book al-Maqasid al-Hasan regarding what is necessary for man, the book “Informing the Limits of the Rules of Islam,” and other things, and he wrote in The ninth of Muharram five hundred and thirty-two” (532 AH = 1138 AD)
