This annotation could refer to the signature that the volume had before its entry into the Biblioteca de la Escuela de Estudios Árabes. The initial l6 folios are encuadernados del vés, which has made the first folio of the volume to be the verso of folio 16. Also, the three folios that occupy the notes and that precede the text of the works have modern foliation in pencil but the digit appears in the upper right corner of the verso folios. -- Cortes: HEBRAE, 38 en la parte superior y motivo decorativo en la parte inferior.
