Notes	5-6. The marble find, dated to the 11th century, is an example of double half columns, an element of Byzantine architecture. The tall columns of these columns, which have various usage areas, can be seen in church sections such as the naos, middle or side naves, narthex and gallery. The shorter types were used in windows. The piece, which is located in the SSM Archaeological Works Collection and consists of two half columns, has two half faces back to back. There is a plinthos on each of these faces. Three-pointed leaf motifs are engraved on the capital surfaces of the column bases, which are detailed with two rows of profiles. --- This marble piece dated to the 5th-6th centuries is an example of double half-columns, a common feature of Byzantine architecture. These columns were used in various ways, with the taller examples seen in church sections such as the naos, the middle or side naves, the narthex, or the gallery.
