f.1v.1: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and in Him we seek help
f.1v.2: Praise be to God who revealed the religion of Islam, over all religions, and strengthened those who adhere to it over the succession of times, and may blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, the guide to the solid religion, and upon his family, his companions, and all his descendants.
f.1v.6: And after that, God, His glory, bestowed on His servants that He bestowed upon them distinction and reason, and prepared for them what they needed, and made clear to them what they would gain by virtue, and sent to them messengers bringing good tidings, warnings, and informers of God, guiding and honoring us, especially by making of a nation the best of His creation, Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and favoring him over all other nations. It is not hidden that God Glory be to Him, the Almighty, introduced the religion of Islam into most of the inhabited lands, in most countries by sword and force, and in some of them by the call to Islam. God honored the people of Malabar in India by accepting the religion of Islam obediently and willingly, so God gave power over them to the people of Barikal from the Franks. God Almighty failed them, so they wronged and corrupted them and attacked them with countless types of injustice and corruption, evident among the people of the country, and they went on. That was a period of time, over the course of eighty years, until the conditions of the Muslims turned into evil, of weakness, poverty, and humiliation. I compiled this collection as an encouragement to the people of faith to wage jihad against the worshipers of the crosses, for their jihad was an obligation due to their entry into Muslim lands. They also captured countless numbers of them and killed many of them. They returned a number of them to Christianity and captured Muslim women. The pipes until Christian sons came out of them to fight the Muslims and harm them, and it was called Tuhfat al-Mujahideen, in some of the reports of the Partkalin - f.51v.8: And two boats took place from Calicut, to the mainland of the Arabs at the end of the season. May God fix the conditions of the Muslims, redress their brokenness, and meet their needs, Amen - f. 51v.12 The book called Tuhfat al-Mujahideen was completed at noon on Monday of the twelfth month of Ramadan in the year 1234 two hundred and thirty-four after the thousandth of the Prophet’s Hijra. May the best prayers be upon him.
