Sample Text Fol.5b.1: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Fol.5b.2: Praise be to God who created man in the best forms and taught him the properties of things of benefit and harm. Fol.5b.4: And as for what follows, the servant Khidr Ibn Ali Al-Khattab says, “When I saw that the knowledge of medicine was the ultimate glory and happiness, and through it salvation from sicknesses and illnesses occurred, I abandoned slumber for a period of time and committed sedation while refraining from observing experimental works. I practiced in the two practices for years after years, especially the Mansouri practice in the city of Cairo, Egypt. I continued to serve the great skilled sheikhs, after I had read most of the medical books in knowledge, until it became clear to me, thanks be to Him.” God Almighty and His bounty are the secrets of discussions that only became clear to one person after one time. I devoted myself to compiling a book that includes treatments that were dealt with by the hands of experiments and minds, and I decorated it with the benefits that I gained from the sessions of my sheikh Jamal al-Din, known as Ibn al-Shuwayki. I quoted a summary of what is in it chapter by chapter, and I called it the cure for illnesses and the cure for pain - Fol.300b.20: And its treatment makes the body relax, if it is there. Then, it is preferable to treat the conjunctivitis according to its essence, and apply kohl with something that makes the eye tearful. The upper eyelid is cut and a part of it comes out as much as it is comfortable.
