Sample Text	f.69v: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. In Him is my trust and my reliance f.69v: Praise be to Him who honored us as the Master of the Perfect. And sent down to him in an abundance of clear Book. We did not teach him poetry, and it is not necessary for it to be anything but a remembrance and a clear Qur’an. May peace and blessings be upon him and his God, the victorious and purified ones f.69v: And then the poor servant, Muhammad al-Hudayni al-Damanhouri, says, “I had put a footnote on the text of al-Kafi and collected in it what pleases those with reasoning. Then, it was necessary for me to shorten it for the uninitiated into words that would help them understand its adequate meaning, so that they could use it to correct the words of poets with the help of the Qadir al-Kafi. That is why I called it Al-Mukhtasar al-Shafi on the text of al-Kafi - f.40v: His saying, and this is the last thing we wanted. This is the last thing I intended to shorten. With the help of the mighty king. May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions, and speaking about that is enlightening.
