Sample Text fol.1b.1: In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful fol.1b.2: As for what follows, know, O you who look at this book, that it is a book of wisdom. The first of these is a chapter on mentioning the humors. If the composition is made up of unequal parts, it is said that this is out of moderation - fol.63b.6: Mention of a sign that can be inferred from the words of the sick person and his silence. If the sight of the sick person calling out the names of the dead, then that is my answer, because it indicates that in the brain there are black burning humors and that the brain itself has died. Burning, sharpness, and rapid speech from a man who is patient in acute illnesses are a negative sign for him, because it indicates a departure from character. Likewise, silence from a man who talks a lot is a negative sign. And if a healthy person who is hardly sick becomes sick, his illness is feared, and God knows best. - fol.63b.13 And know this at the end of the Book. fol.63b.14 It was completed, with the praise, help, and best success of God, at the hands of the poorest of the servants and the one most in need of God Almighty, Mr. Ali Ibn Al-Sayyid Abdullah, and the completion of writing it was on blessed Monday, a day in the middle of the month of Tishreen of the months of the year 1162, one hundred and sixty-two.
