Sample Text Fol. 1b.1: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions, O Lord, O Generous One. Fol. 1b.2: Praise be to God, the one who is harmful and the beneficent, who has made every disease and disease other than the poisonous one the greatest reformer and motivator. Praise Him for His vast bounty and thank Him and ask Him for blessings, for His giving is of no benefit. I bear witness that there is no god but God alone, with no partner, He has the One who destroys and drives. And I bear witness that our master Muhammad, his servant, has taught him the one who extends to every wise man, doctor, scholar, and obedient person. May God’s blessings and peace be upon him, his family, his companions, and those for whom he is described as a loving, sincere, faithful follower. Fol. 1b.6: And then the mayor, the imam who excels in wisdom and knowledge of speech, who hopes from God Almighty for pardon and a good ending, Sheikh Dawud Al-Antaki Al-Basiri, may God Almighty have mercy on him, says: And since the book of vocabulary, which is called “What the Doctor Cannot Be Ignorant of,” is of great magnitude and majesty, with the majesty of its comprehensive origin, by Ibn Al-Bitar (not clear), with what is added to it, which is not hidden to the people of insight, I intended to collect vocabulary from it that is well-known and useful for what is exposed to man in his organs. And its body is one of the harmful things and its name is the complex of physical benefits (fol. 2a.19 - 4a.18 - table of contents which is given below) — Fol. 8b.21: The sight is bounded by many walls and eyelids, and if (lacuna) it is placed on the place of hair
