f.1v.1: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, and in God we seek help
f.1v.2: After praising God, the One, in every respect and consideration, and blessings and peace be upon His Prophet Muhammad, the best of whom He has chosen, and upon his family and his righteous and pure companions.
f.1v.3: When my book entitled “The Guide to the Dust Industry” was well received and spread, it was commissioned by a friend of mine who loves brevity. He asked me to summarize it for him, exaggerating the brevity. I answered him, seeking his supplication - f.12v.10: It contains three ounces of silk, six of cotton, and nine of linen. This is the amount limited to this summary, which cannot contain an end. The result is his ignorance, and whoever seeks to add more than that, his origin is sufficient for him, and whoever seeks to delve into the unknown with proportional numbers, he must receive aid that exceeds all the books of this art - f.12v.13 Praise be to God first and last, apparent and hidden, and may God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family and companions and grant him great peace forever and always until the Day of Judgment and may God be pleased with all the companions and the followers and those who follow them. I will take account until the Day of Judgment, Amen
