Notes
This book is a translation of the Arabic work "Wafaʾ al-Wafaʾ," a significant text on the history of the city of Madinah Munawwarah. Shah ʿAbd al-Haqq Muhaddith Dihlawi translated it into Persian. It discusses the virtues (fadaʾil) of the city, its ancient inhabitants, the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad, the Prophet's Mosque (Masjid al-Nabawi), the noble pulpit (minbar sharif) and chambers (hujarat), expansions of the Prophet's Mosque, famous wells, places of visitation (ziyarat), Jannat al-Baqiʿ, and other topics. | Digitization for the Sufi Shrine Libraries of the Afghan-Pakistan Frontier collection was sponsored by the Modern Endangered Archives Program with funding from Arcadia. | public domain
