Provenance/history of the resource: According to unsecured tradition, found tied to a lance in the Turkish military camp outside Vienna in 1683 and from the possession of Prince Eugen [Duda, Islamic Hss. II, 99]; in the Catalog of Eugeniana, Cod. 14378, p. 1349, a corresponding ms. is mentioned: 'Alcoranus Ms. Turcice, forma minima octogona' [Autopsy]., Binding: Red morocco with gold print, gold cut. Austria, end of 18th century Stored in an octagonal silver box with a yellowish beryl on the lid. Pin clasp and two of three hanging rings preserved. Türkiye, 17th century, dating according to Hijra: 7th Muḥarram 952. - Defect.
