"The Arabic documents of the pre-modern period are increasingly gaining the interest of experts as unique sources. Although the digitization of documents is progressing, systematic lexical aids are still missing. The present volume is intended to close this gap for the sub-area of Arabic epistolography. The glossary is based on a corpus of around 500 epistolary texts from Egypt in the 7th to 16th centuries AD, which the author edited, covering all types of text, from family letters to Business letters to edicts are represented in the glossary in the form of a dictionary, i.e. not selectively or selectively, with particular attention being paid to phraseology and syntax. The keywords are given in Arabic script and the meaning, and the documents are translated in transcription. The number of texts and the coverage of all types of text make the glossary an important tool not only for Arabic papyrology, but also for Arabic studies and Islamic studies as a whole"--, "The work is the first comprehensive lexical tool for pre-modern Arabic epistolography. It is based on systematic analysis of a corpus of around 500 Egyptian letters from the 7th to the 16th century CE. It covers every kind of text, including family letters, business letters, and official edicts are provided in Arabic script with a transcription, and the transcribed letter texts are included"--
