Sample Text The self-study course by Wilfried Baumgarten, economist, translator and Arabic lecturer, is aimed at beginners and primarily teaches contemporary, nationally spoken Arabic with a focus on business situations. After the introduction to the alphabet and pronunciation, 12 clearly structured lessons with text, vocalized vocabulary list, detailed grammar and exercises provide a compact and fast-paced insight into Arabic. All texts are on CD to listen to, although they are spoken very quickly for beginners. Two further chapters explain the differences to written Arabic with example letters and contracts. The didactically successful book is rounded off with solutions, translations and a dictionary. In terms of content, it is most comparable to W. Reuschel: "Textbook of Modern Arabic" (Ed. Hamouda, 2012; not discussed here), but it is only partially suitable for self-study. Closes a gap by focusing on business Arabic. Therefore 1st choice for larger stocks with a business target group. (2-3)
