The textbook teaches the dialect of the Iraqi capital that young, educated people speak today. As the colloquial language of the country's cultural and administrative center, this dialect is not only understood throughout Iraq, but is actively mastered by many. Even in the Arab Gulf states, the dialect of Baghdad usually enables problem-free communication. The textbook does not use the Arabic script, but rather a transcription that also takes the vowels into account and thus enables much faster learning progress. In a total of 18 lessons, the complete grammar and basic vocabulary covering everyday language are presented. Each lesson contains at least three texts and a large number of exercises. The texts not only help you learn the language, but also provide an insight into the rich everyday culture as well as important customs and customs of the country. Conjugation tables, vocabulary lists and a complete glossary are made available online in a separate supplement.
