Sample Text	"The written legal production from the Ottoman courts of Bilād aš-Šām has constituted, since the 1980s, the primary source most frequently analyzed and analyzed by Ottoman historians. The numerous publications on Ottoman history of the Arab provinces are the result of the serial study of a multitude of documents recorded in one or more court registers. However, the authors only rarely engage in the exercise of public reading of a document, the contributors expose their difficulties, their questions regarding the reading of handwritten documents too often written without care in a normative language reduced to a minimum. Through the diversity of the articles gathered here, the range of documents from legal practice is presented, the phase of deciphering the manuscripts is revealed, finally the different readings and informative uses of this type of source are exposed.
