Sample Text	Manfred Ullmann has written down the experiences he has gained during his five decades of working for the Dictionary of the Classical Arabic Language. At the same time, he gives an account of the lexicographical methods he used and the changes he made to the original concepts of August Fischer and Jörg Kraemer. The book is a guide to the proper use of the dictionary. In particular, reference is made to the meaning of the text quotations and the possibilities of gaining a picture of the historical development of the language from them. In this way, the normative, static image of the ʿArabīya drawn by the Arab scholars of the Middle Ages and which is preserved in the lexicons of Freytag and Lane can be replaced. Ultimately, the book is intended to provide suggestions and advice to future lexicographers who would like to continue the WKAS or tackle other dictionaries or glossaries.
