Title page within a woodcut frame. Woodcut friezes. - New edition of the Arabic-Latin Bible published in 1671, in three volumes, by the Propaganda Fide printing house considered the editio princeps of the complete Bible in Arabic (regardless of the polyglots of Paris and London). The version was prepared by Filippo Guadagnolo and revised by Luigi Maracci. Initially received with hesitation, it "eventually gained general acceptance among Arabic-speaking Christians" (Darlow/M. 1652). Edited by Raphael Tuki, bishop of Arsinoe, this edition contains only the books of Genesis through Nehemiah and Tobit.
