The current study is concerned with presenting the strategic and geographical importance of the Caucasus region, and the emergence of new global and regional powers on the international scene after the collapse and disintegration of one of the world powers (the Soviet Union). The features of conflict and competition began again between Russia (the greatest heir) of the aforementioned union and Turkey, which aspires to restore the glories and status of the Ottoman Empire in the region, investing in many factors and incentives that allow it to achieve its great dream, such as cultural, religious and other factors. On the other hand, the Russian Federation intends to preserve its Soviet legacy by not allowing neighboring regional countries to penetrate into the Caucasus, taking advantage of the weakness that prevailed in most of the Soviet territories and the deterioration of economic and administrative conditions in the Russian Federation, especially in the last decade of the last century, in addition to many other factors that we will discuss in the body of the research, which help to conquer the Caucasus region with the least efforts and losses.
