This research aims to reveal the impact of historical narration as an epic aspect in Turgut Özakman’s theater by investigating the narrative aspects in the play “The Three Epics - ÜÇ Destan” by the Turkish writer Turgut Özakman. The research required identifying the artistic aspects of theatrical literature during the period of the Turkish Republic, and the extent to which the writer was influenced by employing the Ottoman historical heritage and mixing it with theatrical literature, and projecting it onto the present, influenced in his theatrical construction by the most important features of epic theatre. In their literary production in the second half of the twentieth century, Turkish writers used heritage and historical sources. Based on inspiration from the rich history of events that allowed for diversity in theatrical literary works over time; The ability of history to influence the conscience and express the lived reality. Therefore, the writer Turgut Ozaqman dealt with historical epics in his play to present a literary work for reading history, especially in periods full of political conflicts in Turkey. He relied on the narration of history, as if he wanted history to become a theme that repeats itself with the aim of drawing lessons learned from it for the present.
