Notes The world has known in its various eras many diseases and epidemics that have befallen mankind, and the researcher finds in history books news of these epidemics, which led to the illness and death of thousands of people, and Hijaz was vulnerable to these epidemics and diseases due to the Hajj seasons and the crowding that occurred there. The cholera epidemic appeared in Hijaz in the 13th century AH/19 AD, with successive waves that left devastation and high rates of deaths, which had wide repercussions in public opinion and the European press, which made European countries worry about the fate of its pilgrims, and sends its representatives to the Hijaz to survey the situation and write reports on the health conditions in detail. These reports contain great and valuable information and are an important source of history. Accordingly, the title of this research was chosen, which deals with the report prepared by the Russian officer Abdulaziz Dolchin during his secret trip to Mecca in the year 1316 AH / 1898 AD. Based on that, this study seeks to reveal an important historical aspect related to epidemics in the Hijaz during this century, its impact on people’s lives, and the measures taken by European countries and the Ottoman Empire to limit its spread, based on Abdulaziz Dolchin’s report, and to come up with some results and observations. The world knew many diseases and epidemics in it's different ages that have occurred to mankind, and the researcher finds in the historical books news of these epidemics, which led to disease and death of thousands of people. Hijaz was the subject to these epidemics and diseases due to the seasons of Hajj and the congestion that occurs there. It appeared in Hijaz in the 13th century AH / 19AD, a cholera epidemic with successful waves causing destruction and high rates of deaths which caused wide repercussions in public opinion and the European press which made European countries worry about the fate of their pilgrims and sent their delegates to the Hijaz to explore the situation and write reports on health conditions in details. These reports contain great and valuable information and it is considered an important source of history.Therefore, the title of this research was chosen, which deals with the report prepared by the Russian officer Abdul Aziz Dolchen through his secret journey to Makkah Al-Mukarramah in 1316 Hijri / 1898 AD. Proceeding from this, the study seeks to reveal an important historical aspect related to the epidemics in Hijaz during this century, and their impact on people's lives.The measures were taken by European and Ottoman countries to limit and reduce their spread, based on the report of Abdel Aziz Dolchen and finally come up with some results and observations.
