Abstract This article examines Palestine during the British Mandate through Historical Methods with a Political Approach. After the First World War (1914-1918), Britain received a mandate from the League of Nations to manage the administration of the former Arab territories which were previously Ottoman territories. In this management process, a problem occurred where two opposing forces emerged, namely the Jewish Zionists as new arrivals and the Palestinian people as the original inhabitants. The League of Nations' desire to assign Britain to give each of the two nations an independent state was rejected by both the Palestinians and the Jews themselves. This study also examines the impact of the success of the Jews in establishing Israel on the suffering of the Palestinian people. This article wants to explain why Palestine experienced failure in establishing an independent state, which the author obtained from various sources and written data. According to the author's research, the British Mandate era was the root and beginning of Palestine's failure to establish an independent state. Apart from that, there were two important factors that caused this failure. First, there were internal factors from the people which at that time were strategic errors from the elite and the Palestinian people themselves. Second, the external factor is the intervention of neighboring Arab countries which divided Palestine for their own interests.---Abstract This article examines the period of the British Mandate of Palestine through the Historical Method and Political Approach. The League of Nations assigned Britain to give each of the two independent countries a rejection by the Palestinians and the Jews themselves. This study also studied the impact of the success of the Jews setting up Israel over the light of the Palestinians. This article wants to explain why the Palestinians have failed in establishing an independent state that the author got from various sources and data. According to the review of the author, the British Mandate era is the root and the beginning of the failure of the Palestinians to establish an independent state. There are two important factors causing this failure. First, the internal factors of the people who were in the form of an error in the strategy of Palestinians themselves. A second, external factor which is the interference of neighboring Arab states (Jordan and Egypt) who partitioned the territories of Palestine.
