Notes
This study aims to shed light on the commercial markets in the city of Jerusalem, which are a major pillar of economic activity in the city. In obtaining its information, it relied mainly on the records of the Jerusalem Sharia Court, which are recorded on microfilm tapes and preserved in the Islamic Heritage Revival Foundation of the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. The study was divided into three axes. The first dealt with the markets and the shops located therein, and also talked about the goods and merchandise present in these shops. The second dealt with the Ottoman and foreign money that the people used during the study era, showing the sales methods in commercial dealings, bonds and promissory notes. The third dealt with the most important commercial companies with which the merchants and the people dealt.
