Despite their initial close relationship, the sciences of fiqh and aqaid have developed separately from each other over time. However, some subjects of the creed continued to be discussed in the sīrah section of furȗʻ fiqh books and in the issues related to hüsun and kubuh in the usûl books. In addition, since the issues of belief are asked in the form of fatwa, like other fiqh issues, they continued to be included in fatwa books to a greater or lesser extent. In the last period of the Ottoman Empire, when the Teʹlîf-i Mesâil Branch was established within the Fetvahâne to prepare a large Turkish fatwa magazine called Muhîtu'l-fetâvâ, the first book of this magazine was devoted to the subjects of belief. One hundred and two fatwas on the subject of akaid of the magazine, in which only books on taharah and salat other than the aqaid have been prepared, consist of selections from the fatwas of the Ottoman sheikh al-Islams and scholars on these subjects. Fetâvâ-yı Veliyyüddîn, which mainly contains the fatwas of Ebussuûd Efendi, and Ali en-Nisârî's el-Fevâidü'l-ʻaliyye, Osman b. It is seen that Mehmed et-Tosyevî's works named Fevâidü'l-fetâva Osmâniyye and Yenişehirli Abdullah Efendi's works named Behcetü'l-fetâvâ stand out as the books in which the most fatwas are quoted in the magazine. One of the duties of the committee that prepares Muhîtu'l-fetâva is to review the accuracy of the transfers in the works from which the fatwas are taken, to make additions when necessary, and sometimes to introduce completely different transfers. In this respect, the nukûl, which is the evidence of the fatwas in the magazine, provides important data about which works were accepted as reliable on the subject of belief in the Ottoman Empire. Muhîtu'l-fetâvâ is also remarkable in that even in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, the Fatwahâne found the power and responsibility to prepare a large fatwa magazine, starting this magazine with the book of Akaid and in this section, perhaps for the last time, going over the framework of the official belief system of the state. For this reason, in the article, within the framework of Muhîtu'l-fetâvâ, we will try to determine the nature of the belief fatwas as a product of the fatwa activity and the works referenced in these fatwas.
