Notes Since ancient times, scholars have written various works to explain the whole, a part, a surah or a verse of the Holy Quran. One of the topics they focus on most in these works is "interpretation of basmala". While some of them discussed Bismillah extensively in the introductions of their works, others wrote independent treatises on the subject. One of these is the XVIII. Muhammed b. It is Mustafa el-Akkirmânî. His treatise on basmala was taken into consideration by scholars and dozens of manuscript copies have survived to the present day. In this work, the author discussed the words that make up the Bismillah one by one and focused especially on linguistic analyzes and theological explanations. In this article, his short life story will be included first and then his "interpretation of basmala" will be analyzed.
