Britain, the influential power, made great efforts to protect its interests in the emirates of the Arabian Gulf, including Qatar, from competing regional and international powers. Its political efforts went hand in hand with its military measures, and they varied between direct support for its allies whom it trusts and with whom it has protection agreements and treaties, and psychological warfare to reassure the renegades who were affected by the religious claims that the Ottoman Empire called for in its relations with the Arabian Gulf region. The research showed Britain’s role in keeping Qatar away from Ottoman attempts to strengthen... Its presence there until the signing of the March 1913 Agreement, where the agreement ended the marginal Ottoman presence with the end of their presence in Qatar.
