Notes The rhythm of the modern era, the development of media and satellite channels, and the direct influence between civilizations, have led to major and rapid changes in the world of fashion, as all modern fashions and fashions derive their designs and meanings from ancient times. But it is developing and modernizing it and integrating cultures and civilizations, which may result in modern designs. Therefore, fashion designers have tended to constantly search for everything new in the world of fashion, and many international fashion designers resort to returning to history in order to search for a fertile source to enrich contemporary fashion. Filming historical narratives, whether theatre, cinema or television, needs to create an atmosphere of realism that can only be achieved by studying the history of fashion. The historical study of fashion is nothing but a mirror of the plastic arts that illustrate the extent of the cultural progress of peoples in a certain period of time. The arts reflect the spirit of general culture and the prevailing style at that time, and illustrate the general taste and prevailing aesthetic ideals. Fashion art is influenced by the general style of any era. Through this study, a descriptive and analytical presentation of the Ottoman era and the fashions of the Ottoman era is presented, and rather the period from 1520 AD to 1566 AD, which is the golden period in which Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, with his wisdom, brought the Ottoman Empire to its peak. This period was dealt with in a huge Turkish drama series called “The Magnificent Century” or what is called in the Arab world “The Sultan’s Harem.” The extent to which the series’ fashions match the fashions of the Ottoman era itself is also studied, in addition to conducting an applied study on the use of Ottoman era fashions as an inspirational source for contemporary fashion design. The results of the research indicated the richness of the period studied in terms of being a source of inspiration for fashion design, and it was also possible to design a contemporary collection of fashions inspired by the fashions of this period.
