Notes The Janissary forces were one of the basic elements of the Ottoman army, and one of the strengths in some periods. However, the coming of weak sultans to rule, the integration of the Janissary forces into Ottoman society - which affected their military nature - and the centralization of sensitive centers of the state in the hands of senior Janissary leaders, led to the deterioration of the Ottoman state in general and its weakness in the face of its enemies, which was naturally reflected in the conditions of the Ottoman state in most of its regions, while making some sultans try to reconsider their These conditions deteriorated and the Janissaries were eliminated, until Sultan Mahmud II was able to do so in 1826.
