Notes
Hayâlî Bey, whose contribution to bringing classical poetry to the level of Persian literature cannot be denied, proved himself with his poetic genius in Istanbul, where he started with the Kalenderî group, and became one of the top figures of classical poetry by receiving the patronage of the state dignitary. His artistic personality was appreciated by his contemporaries and he was honored with the title of "sultânü'ş-şuârâ-yı Rûm". However, as a requirement of the Ottoman patronage tradition, the poet manifested his mastery of speech and his poetic genius by revealing himself in the fahriye and ghazals section of the odes. In fact, these sections are the sections where a suitable opportunity is created for the poet to praise himself. In this section, the poet claims superiority by making a comparison between himself and other poets by exaggeratingly talking about his power as a poet, his virtues, and how masterful a poet he is. In this study, the entire Divan of Hayâlî Bey was examined by considering the concept of manifestation, and studies were made on the parts in which the poet manifested his poetry.
