Notes	There are many locations, forms, and contents of the inscriptions executed in various artistic formations on the remaining civil buildings in the city of Taif. It is diverse, including religious, propaganda, historical, and other writings. The people of Hijaz, including the residents of Taif, especially in the Ottoman era, used to engrave some Qur’anic verses and propaganda and religious phrases on the facades of their homes and facilities in honor of them and in their belief in their importance in warding off envy. This research aims to identify the inscriptions that were executed on various civil buildings in the city of Taif, by inventorying these inscriptions, a large portion of which still remain on those buildings and maintaining their original condition, as well as studying them in terms of form and the various expressions they contain, identifying the types of fonts used in their execution, as well as the industrial and artistic methods used in engraving them, then analyzing the religious, propaganda, historical and other contents contained in these inscriptions. In this study, the researcher will follow the descriptive approach based on describing the remaining inscriptions on the urban buildings of Taif, in addition to the analytical approach that includes analyzing the contents of these inscriptions, comparing them to each other and to their counterparts in some of the buildings of the various cities of Hijaz, especially the cities of Mecca and Jeddah.
