Notes
According to the Holy Quran, the mind, which is the power of appeal, the faculty of thinking and understanding, that distinguishes humans from other living creatures and makes them responsible, is the feature that makes humans human, gives meaning to all of their actions, and enables humans to take on obligations and responsibilities in the face of divine commands. One of the most important means of conveying thought in Ottoman society is poetry. Poets, most of whom were well-educated, conveyed this information through the language of poetry on the basis of art. This issue will be seen very clearly when the divans are examined. With this study, we want to examine the concept of reason in divan poetry, which produces works with a rich content extending from the Quran and Sufism to Greek mythology, and how this imagination is processed in the field of art, based on the works of poets who have distinguished themselves with certain characteristics.
