In studies on the Safavids, a relatively peaceful atmosphere prevailed in II. Diplomatic and political relations between Bayezid and Shah Ismail were overshadowed by the conflicts that occurred in the following period. Safavid studies generally focus on the period after Sultan Selim ascended to the throne, when the wars began. Probably the most important reason for this is the lack of resources focusing on the mentioned point. However, Ottoman sources show the existence of high-level diplomatic relations between the two sides before the long period of wars. The primary goal of this research is to prove a period of peace between the Safavid and Ottoman governments through documents in the Ottoman archives. Indeed, before Sultan Selim came to the throne, the Ottoman Empire had good relations with the Safavid Empire, and both sides regularly sent ambassadors and gifts to each other. Ottoman sources and II. By looking at the gifts sent by Bayezid to Sheikh Ismail of Ardabil, we will examine the Ottomans' view of the Safavid shah and their acceptance of him as a sect leader. In addition, we will explain how envoys travel back and forth between the two sides and how the parties use these trips to express their power.
