Notes Francophonism represents one of the methods of Westernization and subordination that penetrated the Arab world. It went through multiple stages and different methods. It began with the protection of Christian minorities in the Levant (in the eighteenth century during Ottoman rule), then with the bloody military colonial advance in the Maghreb. The Francophone movement plundered all the resources it could of the Arab countries, and worked to obliterate the Islamic and Arab identity in them. After achieving the liberation of the Arab lands from their military grip, Francophonie has maintained its presence and continuity. Francophonism has left huge impacts on the Arab countries under its control, including: the Arabic language, education, and culture.
Görüntüle Majallat Jāmiʻat al-Malik ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz. Ādāb wa-al-ʻulūm al-insānīyah, 2017, Vol.25 (1), p.179-199
