This research sheds light on the policy followed by France towards the Western Province of Tripoli during the American-Tripolitan War (5-18701) (18), which was characterized by being a dual policy. At a time when French-Tripolitan relations were characterized by relations of friendship and cooperation, especially the end of the French campaign against Egypt (1798-1801), despite the orders of the Sultan Al-Shamani, who invited the ruler of the Western Province of Tripoli, Yusuf Pasha. Al-Qaramaili decided to sever his relationship with France, but France did not side with the Tripolitanian Ayalet after the outbreak of the American-Tripolitan War, but rather followed the method of mediation in ending the war and did not help the Ayalet in that war despite the French-Tripolitan treaty concluded between them in 1818, which led to tension in French-Tripolitan relations after the end of that war. This research sheds light on the policy adopted by France towards the west of Tripoli during the American war in Tripoli (18701-1805), which was characterized by being a double policy, while the French-Tripoli relations were characterized by relations of friendship and cooperation, especially during the French campaign against Egypt (1798-1801). Despite the orders of the Ottoman sultan to invite the governor of the Ayala Tripoli in the west, Yusuf Pasha al-Qurmanli to sever his relations with France, France did not stand by the Ayala Trabelsi after the outbreak of the US-Trabelsi War. War despite the French Treaty of Tripoli between Benhta in 1801, which strained relations between France and Tripoli after the end of that war.
